All systems go

Well, after a few days down, I narrowed the problem to the power supply, and replaced it yesterday. I’m tentatively calling it a good fix as things seem to be back to normal.

Regular posts should be coming once again now that it’s straightened out.

Well, my computer is “broken down” for the time being. It happened yesterday: I would turn it on and it would stay on for roughly a minute. I’ve got an idea of what the problem might be, but it’s going to take many hours of testing over the weekend to verify and that’s before the hour or two it will take to fix it.

I’ll have my work laptop with me just in case the issue takes longer to resolve than planned, but I should be able to post regularly once again beginning today.

Life gets in the way

Remember when I said I’d tailor the posts here to what life would allow me to do. Well, I kinda lied.

We’re snowed in here in DC, and I did a great amount of nothing yesterday. Including forgetting to write.

I guess we’re all allowed a day off every once in a while.

But keep your eyes open for a post later today.

Change Up

In an effort to increase my writing skills, I’ve changed the purpose of this blog: each day, I will pick a story and write an opinion on it. One posting a day, seven days a week, for as long as I can keep it up. This is about forming a good habit and keeping myself accountable to the anonymous public.

As I want to challenge myself to grow and maintain a writing habit, I am leaving the terms of this challenge open to change in the future. I’m sure that there will be busy times of the year when I may not have the time to write (or do much else in my personal life). I’m also open to doubling, tripling, quadrupling (or more) the number of stories that I cover here. It’s all about finding the right balance.

I will begin today, January 28, 2010.
